Hey everyone!
There has been a lot of colds, allergies and just life happening here but I finally had some time to write a blog about sister.
Lucina is such a spit fire that I love and worry about at the same time!
Not so much worried about her but more about me being able to parent her right π .
She’s in this phase of Ms. Independent, grown, super sassy, bossy and sensitive at the same time. Her spirit is loving and caring but will punch you in the face if you cross her.
I’m trying to give her that expressive freedom without her getting out of hand.
She’s like 100% sassy or 100% whinny right now.
Meanwhile, AJ and I are just trying to survive her personality on the daily because sister can be just a tad bit intrusive – in a loving way.
If you are wondering if she has a chill button, she doesn’t. The other night she literally fell asleep saying “no no no.”
AJ took all the chill. He’s like “yo mom, snack” and then wants to disappear lol.
What’s New
Lucina is officially signed up for a FOUR day morning class next year!
When it came time to register, I spoke to her teacher to see what class I should write down as a preference. There were limited spots but she suggested to try the four day since Lucina is beyond ready for it.
Right now she does two mornings a week and loves it. This girl LIVES for classrooms, crafts and playgrounds.
Luckily I got number eight in the lottery and was able to snag a spot!
Lucina has a late birthday so she is always in the class that would be a year younger for her. I’m pretty sure she is the oldest in her class right now.
Her teacher was telling me that she’s the only one who can complete tasks with little to no help, is the class helper and can complete puzzles on her own.

I’ve been trying to work with her at home on the weekends to test her skills. I’m proud to say she already knows all her basic colors and is potty trained!
Let’s Talk
As most know, Lucina is in speech twice a week. She has an expressive delay. These past few months her vocabulary has been taking off.
She’s now saying three word sentences! It isn’t consistent but the skill is emerging. She still tries to get away with baby babble but is doing good at using her “big girl” words when we ask her.
Growing Up
Another fun thing that is new is she likes to bake/cook! If it’s an “adult” task, she wants to do it. It’s fun watching her grow up and find interests.

A not so new fact is that she still loves fishing! We never catch fish (probably because of her screaming/stomping) but she loves everything about it. She’s also all about being her dad’s helper and LOVES being in the yard cleaning/playing.
Overall, I’m just so proud of her.
Pointer Finger & Balance
She’s so empathetic towards everyone, especially her brother. When she’s not being caring, she has that pointer finger out swaying it saying no.
We were at an indoor playground the other day and I called her name. This girl thought I was calling her to leave so she stops, turns around, gets that finger up and says “no no no” and goes running.
I’m telling y’all, I’m going to need all patience and guidance raising this one. She is my second child but my first in many ways.
I joke with AJ that he didn’t prepare me for this π.
I was looking into some gymnastics or tumbling classes for her but she missed the 3yr cutoff by eleven days! She won’t be able to do those fun things until next year.
I was kind of bummed because she is at the age where she is blossoming into her kid personality and I really wanted to give her a good outlet and structure.
The plus side is I was able to get her in more schooling; hopefully that gives her the freedom from mom and structure to find herself.

Lucina is fire all day long. I wouldn’t have it any other way. There are people that are passive and people who have the desire to lead. This girl is going to be the leader in anything she chooses.
I already have to tell her I’m the adult and make the rules, not her lol.
If you have a free spirit kid, send me all the tips and tricks! In the meantime, I’m doing my best to let Ms. Sass Pants be “free” with boundaries and watching her grow up.
Until next blog β€
